A National Honor Recognizing the Power of HR Community in the Quad Cities
We are thrilled to announce that our chapter has been named a 2025 SHRM Impact Award winner—one of the highest honors given by the Society for Human Resource Management to chapters and state councils across the country!
This award recognizes HR organizations that make exceptional, purpose-driven contributions to their members, workplaces, and broader communities. To be selected from hundreds of chapters nationwide is an extraordinary achievement—and one that belongs to every GRHRA member who contributes time, energy, expertise, and heart to our chapter’s mission.
Recognized for Innovation: GRHRA’s “Hot Spot” Initiative
Our award-winning submission featured Hot Spots, GRHRA’s unique peer-based mentorship model launched in 2024. Hot Spots were created to help HR professionals build meaningful connections in smaller, micro-community formats—allowing participants to share challenges, exchange ideas, and support one another in real time.
The initiative quickly gained momentum, strengthening our chapter’s sense of community and creating a support network that HR professionals desperately needed in today’s fast-changing environment. As SHRM noted in its announcement, the 2025 Impact Award winners represent programs that “set a new benchmark for impact through innovation, collaboration, and service.”
Award Presented at SHRM’s Volunteer Leader Business Meeting
I was able to accept the national award on behalf of the chapter at the SHRM Volunteer Leader Business Meeting last month. The award was kept secret until the conference, making the moment even more exciting!
“This recognition reflects the strength of our membership,” Bobbi Jo shared. “GRHRA continues to lead with collaboration, creativity, and a genuine desire to support one another—and this award belongs to every single person who is part of our HR community.”
Why This Matters for the Quad Cities
HR drives workforce development, employee success, and organizational culture across every industry in our region. Being nationally recognized highlights the vital contributions HR professionals make to business success, and it places GRHRA—and the Quad Cities—on the map as a leader in advancing the HR profession.
The award also reinforces our chapter’s commitment to building:
-
Stronger HR networks
-
High-quality professional development
-
Programming that supports both new and seasoned HR leaders
-
A welcoming space where members feel connected and empowered
Thank you to our board, committee leaders, volunteers, sponsors, and every GRHRA member who fuels the heart of this chapter. This award is truly yours.
Thanks,
Bobbi Jo Cox - GRHRA President
