Micro-internships can take students through those first steps in their career journey. These short-term work experiences grow skills, build resumes, extend networks, instill confidence, and are a great option for companies that are looking for creative solutions to project work as well as for insight on a potential new hire.
Never heard of micro-internships or not sure if it's a right fit for your company? Join us on Tuesday, April 13th, where we will have representatives from three local colleges (Augustana, EICC & WIU) that will educate employers on the ins and outs of micro-internships as well as the value this type of work can bring to you and your organization.

About the Presenters: Laura Kestner-Ricketts is an effective leader and career educator with more than twenty years progressiveexperience in leadership and strategic planning, relationship building and collaboration, resource and data management, supervision and staff development, and career counseling, advising, and teaching. She serves as the Executive Director of Career and Professional Development at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Prior to that, she learned the ropes working at medium to small liberal arts colleges throughout the Midwest. Part of her professional success and satisfaction has come from her involvement in professional associations where she has developed skills, knowledge, and lasting professional relationships.
Driven by a passion for people and their impact on the success of organizations, Susan Lammers combines a vast professional background with various degrees in education, business, and administration to assist organizations toward meeting their missions. Recently awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award as an Instructor in the area of Supply Chain & Logistics with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, Susan works to inspire students to become valuable contributors to the success of their respective organizations, their families, and their communities. When all of these areas flourish, Susan knows she has been successful.
Audrey Adamson has been a student services professional in higher education for over twenty-three years and is currently the Director for the Center for Career Preparation and Employer Engagement for Western Illinois University. In this role, she assists WIU students and alumni with their career development including career counseling, resume building, interviewing, and job/internship searching. Outside of work, Audrey volunteers with Moline Booster Clubs, Dress for Success, and is on the Moline-Coal Valley School Board, as well as cheering her kids on in their various activities. She loves to connect people, lift them up, and try to make the world a better place. |
