Human Resources professionals have been presented with many opportunities to lead within their organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Employees are absent from work more and need HR to lead more than ever. Managers are needing employees to work to sustain operational and financial integrity and need HR to lead more than ever. Both are coming to HR leaders asking, “What am I supposed to do?”  This is the leadership opportunity HR leaders have been waiting for, but we find ourselves asking the same question, “What am I supposed to do?”

During our time together, we will explore how to best balance the needs of employees and managers, how to manage attendance and the potential overlap with the provisions of The Family & Medical Leave Act, and strategies to answer the question, “What am I supposed to do?”

In this presentation, participants will learn...

  • about the provisions of the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and how absences related to COVID-19 may qualify for protection under FMLA.
  • best practices for managing attendance
  • how to support employees and their families while balancing the operational needs of their organizations.
