Join us for a candid Q&A on the topic of, Creating Cohesive Partnerships Between Executive Teams and HR! After the Q&A has concluded, stick around for networking with food and drink!

 

During this one-of-a-kind event, our five local executives will share expectations of their HR departments, how their HR departments are involved in the organization, how they wish their HR departments were more involved, stories of HR department wins, and known challenges (of which they are aware) they would like HR to assist in the solution. As this will be a roundtable, bring your questions to ask so you are able to get some answers to take back with you! And don't forget to stick around for networking, with food and drink, following the Q&A.

About the Presenters:

Patrick Pollock is currently the CEO of ALM Positioners, Inc. in Rock Island Illinois. Mr. Pollock has over 40 years’ experience in Manufacturing. His assignments have included global business development and multinational business operations. With an entrepreneurial background, Patrick has been involved with a start-up business, JV’s, a foreign business acquisition and the successful sales of two manufacturing businesses. He has a doctoral degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University.

Brian Duffy is the Chief Executive Officer for Per Mar Security Services in Davenport, IA. Founded in 1953 by Brian’s grandparents, John and Eleanor Duffy, Brian and his brother Brad are now the 3rd generation of Duffy family leadership, recently taking over from their father, Michael Duffy. Per Mar Security is the largest, full service security provider in the Midwest, serving over 50,000 customers in 7 states, and employing over 2500 people. Brian graduated from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2009 and then began his career with Capital One Financial in Richmond, Virginia. He began his full-time career with Per Mar as a General Manager in the Cedar Rapids market in July of 2012, and then increased his responsibility in July of 2013 leading both the Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids branch offices. He was appointed President of the Electronic Security Division in December of 2014, and Chief Operating Officer in October of 2018, and Chief Executive Officer in 2021.

 

Brian is an active member of numerous Security associations locally and nationally.  He is a member of the Iowa YPO, and is also active in organizations in the Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities areas, including serving as Chairman of the Board for Junior Achievement of the Heartland.

Rene Gellerman is the President & CEO of United Way Quad Cities, the largest nongovernmental funder of programs to improve education, income and health in the Quad Cities. Rene’s vision  for United Way includes integrating emerging fundraising markets, strategically incorporating innovative uses of technology, and strengthening collaborative partnerships throughout the region.

Since being appointed as CEO and president of United Way Quad Cities in 2018, Rene has built community confidence in the United Way’s mission and impact priorities and achieved growing results in resource development. These improved results were accomplished through revenue diversification, new innovative data tools, clearer branding and focused impact strategies that address systemic, root causes that keep people from developing their full potential.

A committed community advocate, Rene has served in leadership roles for numerous organizations in the Quad Cities community throughout her career. Rene is a Charter member of the United Way’s Women United and serves on the United Ways of Iowa CEO Council, Q2030 Board of Directors and the Quad Cities Health Initiative. She has been on the boards of the Institute of Organizational Management, River Music Experience, Quad Cities Cultural Trust, HAVlife and a member of CEOs for Cities advisory council. She was named Athena Award Finalist by Women Lead Change in 2020. Rene and her husband, David, have five grown children.

Mr. Tom Bowman is the Chief Executive Officer for Community Health Care, Inc. (CHC), providing vision and leadership for this Federally Qualified Health Center serving over 40,000 patients in the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities, Clinton and Muscatine areas. CHC provides primary medical, dental and behavioral health services as well as support services like pharmacy, lab, pain management and the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. They operate 12 locations and employ of over 350 mission driven healthcare professionals.

 

Mr. Bowman received his BA in Business Administration from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and later attended the University of Iowa to receive his MBA. Additionally, he is board certified through the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

 

Mr. Bowman joined CHC in 2007 after relocating from Cherokee, Iowa where he managed the family practice clinics for Cherokee Regional Medical Center for 5 years. Shortly after joining CHC Mr. Bowman was named the Chief Operating Officer, a position he held until being named CEO in March of 2010.

 

Mr. Bowman is active in the Quad Cities community serving on many boards including United Way, the Quad City Health Initiative and the Ecumenical Housing and Development Group. He is also active within the Rotary Club of Davenport. Mr. Bowman is also active in both the Iowa and Illinois Primary Care Associations, serving on several committees and in various officer roles. 

 

Outside of CHC, Mr. Bowman spends most of his time doing family activities with his wife Kristy and his children Maggie, (13) and Tyler (11).
