Beyond Diversity

The topics of diversity, inclusion and equity are not only necessary to address but will be of valuable interest to both you and your company. During this conversation, Claudia Schabel, President of Schabel Solutions as well as Iowa SHRM Diversity Chair, will discuss short and long-term actions employers can take to demonstrate commitment to social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion. It is our hope that from this event, you will be able to move from a statement to actions.

During this webinar, we will...

  1. Discuss current social justice climate in the country and in our communities
  2. Discuss short and long-term actions
  3. Design your action plan with actions you are willing to take now and in the future.

HR professionals will be able to transfer this knowledge in their communications, interactions, and initiatives beginning immediately. Actions will be specific to some functions and roles in HR.

About the Presenter:

Claudia Schabel, President of Schabel Solutions, combines over a decade of experience as a Diversity and Inclusion practitioner with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies with a multicultural background to offer consulting, training and coaching services in the areas of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to businesses, educational, governmental and not-forprofit organizations.

Schabel Solutions is Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) certified, a woman/minority-owned business and Iowa certified as a Targeted Small Business (TSB) and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certified.

Schabel is a commissioner on the City of Des Moines Civil and Human Rights Commission and serves on the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) State Council as the Director of Diversity. 

Schabel is a native of Brazil and speaks Portuguese, Spanish, English and some Japanese. She earned a BA degree in International Relations from Drake University and lives in the Des Moines, Iowa.
