Strategic-Planning Session with GRHRA (Virtual Session)

FREE recertification credit - Invitation to participate in strategic planning
GRHRA members, do you need business credits for recertification? Are you curious about the strategic planning process? Do you want to develop tools to conduct strategic planning within your department or organization?
GRHRA is offering a unique opportunity for our membership to learn new skills, earn business (strategic) recertification credits, and work to advance HR in the business community. As HR and business professionals, we know the value of strategy and planning for organizational success. Given this, the GRHRA Board is undergoing a strategic-planning process to develop long- and short-term goals and direction.
Since GRHRA is a membership organization, we want to involve our membership to the fullest extent possible in this process. Therefore, we are inviting you to participate in a 90-minute virtual roundtable discussion being offered. To accommodate different schedules of our members, we will offer three sessions. Please register for only one, the content is identical. Each session will start with a short program on how to conduct a strategic-planning process within your department or organization. Following that, the group will participate as a member in GRHRA’s strategic-planning process by sharing and discussing experiences, goals, opportunities, etc. with our facilitator.
Each roundtable session will be a 90-minute session and participants will complete a pre-meeting worksheet. Participants will receive documentation of their participation and are eligible to submit two (2) hours of recertification credit (advancing the profession for SHRM recertification and leadership & strategy – functional area 1 for HRCI recertification) for participation in this activity.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Jennifer Palar is a self-described HR enthusiast and extrovert extraordinaire. She started her career in HR around age 9, found her fit, and never left. She held multiple HR positions as a practitioner, most recently as a Regional Human Resources Manager in the building materials industry with responsibility for more than 110 locations across the Midwest. Being very passionate about the impact of HR on the strategic objectives and outcomes of firms, her most recent position prompted her to pursue her Ph.D. in strategy. Since that time her work in strategy and HR has been presented around the globe at businesses, universities, and conferences, and she is on a mission to change the way strategy and HR are taught, viewed, and valued.
Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Mississippi and a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University. She also holds multiple designations including Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Management at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
