Is strategy another language? This is a question many HR professionals grapple with during the course of their careers. The lack of understanding about the nature and function of strategy creates a disconnect between the languages used by senior leaders and that of HR professionals. This highly interactive session will unpack the strategy toolkit to provide you with knowledge and resources to diagnose your organization’s strategies and communicate through those strategies. Upon completing this session participants at all organizational levels should be able to recognize the strategic objectives of their organization, link HR functions to those objectives, identify the most appropriate metrics associated with those objectives, and foster improved communication with senior leaders.
Dr. Jennifer Palar has a background in management strategy, organizational effectiveness and development, employee relations, relationship management, communication, consultation, critical evaluation, leadership, and business acument.
Key learning objectives:
- Provide an overview of business strategy with interactive discussions for all participants.
Outline and discuss how to identify current business strategy and align this strategy with the HR function
Lead a discussion on communication differences between senior executives and HR professionals and provide methods to use strategy in such communication.
